We meet at `Sous-Terre` bridge, Geneva center, at 10am.
I provide 2 or 3 inflatable boats, oars, waterproof bags and safe jackets.
The descent of the Rhône is slow and pleasant along with the current.
We follow and explore the wild banks of the river, watching birds, until we find a nice place to picnic. I know few good spots for that.
We land at the Moulin of Vernier around 3pm.
A vehicle takes us back to the starting point in the Junction district at least at 4pm.
Take your swimsuit of course... There are plenty of idyllic places for bathing all along our trip!
Swimming or floating `down the Rhone` is a typical Geneva's popular activity during the summer. The best is of course when the water is swimmable, (+ 20 ° C) and the flow of muddy waters of the Arve doesn't take over that of the Rhone... (which waters remain crystal clear and often warmer.) Actually, we ship in a place called `The Jonction`, a district of Geneva precisely shaped by this meeting of two rivers, stories, characters and different paths...
