I suggest you to discover one of the oldest neighbourhood of Paris.
Le Marais takes its name from an old swamp area occupied since the 12th century. Today, this historic district is one of the most common of the capital, for the heritage treasures it houses and ambiance it exudes. This area forms a triangle bounded by the places of the Bastille, the Republic and the Town Hall. It has many mansions of the 17th and 18th centuries, converted into internationally renowned Museum (Musee Picasso Paris, House of Victor Hugo, Carnavalet Museum...). The visit of the place des Vosges is the highlight of a walk in the swamp, is a masterpiece of balance and elegance. The rue des Rosiers, epicentre of the Parisian Jewish community, is also important to discover for its atmosphere, its shops and restaurants. The swamp is full of fashion shops, gourmet addresses and has even his store: BHV Marais! There are more bars, shops and gay clubs on the Marais, making it the largest gay district of France.
Thereafter I propose to lovers of Latin dances a small meeting of tango or salsa outdoors on the docks of Austerlitz.
