Heritage UNESCO, the Nikko Toshogu Shrine, dedicated to the unifier of Japan Tokugawa Ieyasu, world is splendid.
In contrast to Japanese sobriety, its buildings are sumptuous, very colorful, with many motifs of animals and flowers. The carving of three monkeys of wisdom which decorates the sacred stable is famous worldwide: «he who does not see, one that does not, that does not speak».
We can also admire the Rinno-ji temple, founded by Shodo Shonin, Buddhist monk who chose Nikko as place of worship. In the main building, three large impressive statues of Buddha symbolize the three sacred mountains of Nikko.
After enjoying these temples, we enjoy the specialty of Nikko, Yuba, before go us on the edge of Lake Chuzenji and go admire the Kegon waterfall.
We will leave from your hotel at 8: 00 and return to Tokyo around 6 pm.
