Description

Birdwatching tour in the Monts of Malaga Natural Park.

This forest of Aleppo pines, stained oak, cork oak and madrone is the result of afforestation carried out in the first half of the last century to avoid the floods of Guadalmedina river in the city of Málaga. It's a green and wet area in winter but a very pleasant place to go walking under the trees at summertime.

Telescope & binoculars will be at your disposal.

The most important species are:

All year round: Sparrowhawk, Goshawk, Woodpecker, Firecrest, Coal Tit, Crested Tit, Nuthatch, crossbill...

Summer: Short-toed Eagle, Booted Eagle, Red-rumped Swallow, Nightingale, Melodious Warbler ...

Winter: Song Thrush, Redwing, Siskin.

Passing birds: Honey Buzzard, flycatcher
